Live Music with Reggie Shaw!

About Reggie Shaw:

REGGIE SHAW HAS BEEN ENTERTAINING CROWDS FOR 25 YEARS. HE TRULY LIVES THE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINS AN AUDIENCE LIKE NO OTHER. REGGIE WAS BORN IN KEARNEY NEBRASKA, GREW UP IN A SMALL TOWN OF 600 PEOPLE, AND MOVED TO NASHVILLE WHEN HE GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL.

REGGIE STARTED SINGING WHEN HE WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD ALONG WITH THE TOP 40 ON THE RADIO. HE STARTED SINGING PROFESSIONALLY WHEN HE WAS 14 AFTER HE WAS IN A NEAR FATAL ACCIDENT THAT ALMOST TOOK HIS LIFE ON AUGUST 21ST, 1990. REGGIE WAS HIT BY A PICK UP ON HIS BICYCLE AT A 70 MPH IMPACT THAT BROKE HIS LEG AND THREW HIM 20 FEET INTO THE AIR. REGGIE WAS RUSHED TO THE GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL IN KEARNEY WHERE HE WOULD SPEND 1 YEAR RECOVERING. DURING HIS STAY, HE DISCOVERED GARTH BROOKS AND COUNTRY MUSIC.

REGGIE GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AND STARTED PRACTICING HIS SINGING. HE WAS ASKED TO SING AT A GRADUATION CEREMONY IN LEXINGTON, NEBRASKA IN FRONT OF 5,000 PEOPLE FOR HIS FIRST PERFORMANCE. REGGIE RECEIVED A STANDING OVATION AND HE KNEW AT THAT POINT THAT HE WOULD BE SINGING FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.

REGGIE STARTED BOOKING SINGLE ACT SHOWS AT VENUES ACROSS NEBRASKA AND THEN AFTER GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL, HE DECIDED TO MOVE TO NASHVILLE TENNESSEE. HIS ROAD WAS NOT EASY AT ALL ONLY HAVING $3,000 TO HIS NAME AND A CAR THAT WAS PAID FOR. REGGIE PLAYED ON THE STREET CORNERS TO SAVE UP MONEY TO COVER HIS LIVING EXPENSES. REGGIE FINALLY LANDED HIS FIRST NASHVILLE GIG AT THE FIDDLE AND STEELE GUITAR BAR LOCATED IN PRINTERS ALLEY. HE STARTED PLAYING ACOUSTIC SHOWS 3 NIGHTS A WEEK AND EVENTUALLY PUT HIS FIRST BAND TOGETHER AND STARTED PLAYING ALL THE HONKY TONKS IN NASHVILLE.

REGGIE WAS ON HIS WAY TO BECOMING THE NEXT STAR. HE STARTED GETTING TO KNOW ALOT OF OTHER MUSICIANS AND SONGWRITERS THAT HE COULD LEARN FROM AND PERFORM WITH SUCH AS JO DON ROONEY, GARY LEVOX, AND JAY DEMARCUS. THEY ALL PERFORMED AT THE FIDDLE AND STEELE GUITAR BAR 3 TO 5 TIMES PER WEEK. A FEW YEARS LATER, JO DON, GARY, AND JAY WERE TAKEN INTO THE STUDIO BY A PRODUCER NAMED MARK BRIGHT AND AFTER JUST A FEW MONTHS THEY WERE SIGNED TO LYRIC STREET RECORDS. THEY CAME UP WITH A NAME CALLED “RASCALL FLATTS” AND LAUNCHED THERE FIRST HIT “PRAYING FOR DAYLIGHT” REGGIE WAS IN THE STUDIO WITH THEM WHEN THEY RECORDED THERE FIRST ALBUM AND WAS CHEERING THEM ON ALL THE WAY.

REGGIE MET SINGER SONGWRITER ERIC DURRANCE AND THEY BECAME ROOMATES IN NASHVILLE. REGGIE AND ERIC STARTED WRITING SONGS WHILE ERIC WAS RECORDING WITH THE SAME PRODUCER THAT RASCALL FLATTS RECORDED WITH, MARK BRIGHT. REGGIE STARTED PLAYING ALL THE HONKY TONKS IN NASHVILLE AGAIN, GETTING INTO THE SWING OF THINGS WHILE WORKING FOR THE PHONE COMPANY AT THE SAME TIME.

AFTER A FEW YEARS OF PLAYING BROADWAY IN NASHVILLE WITH ACTS SUCH AS JOE NICHOLS, JARED NIEMANN, LEE BRICE, AND MANY MORE, REGGIE GOT A CALL FROM HIS MOTHER TELLING HIM THAT HIS GRANDPA HAD PASSED AWAY.

REGGIE’S GRANDPA WAS #1 TO HIM IN HIS LIFE AND THIS HIT REGGIE SO HARD THAT HE DECIDED TO MOVE BACK HOME. IT WAS ALWAYS HIS GRANDPA’S DREAM TO WATCH REGGIE SING ON THE GRAND OLE OPRY AND NOW REGGIE HAD TO FIND A WAY TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN AND MAKE THAT HIS NEW VISION.

REGGIE WROTE A SONG FOR HIS GRANDPA ON HIS LONG DRIVE HOME CALLED “I’M GONNA MISS HIM.” HE PERFORMED THIS SONG AT HIS GRANDPA’S FUNERAL AND THERE WAS NOT A DRY EYE IN THE ENTIRE CHURCH.

SHORTLY AFTER HIS GRANDPAS PASSING, REGGIE ENTERED THE COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN WITH THE SONG THAT HE WROTE FOR HIS GRANDPA. REGGIE WON THE LOCAL AND STATE LEVEL AND THEN WENT ON TO WIN THE REGIONAL LEVEL. ITS ALMOST LIKE HIS GRANDPA WAS LOOKING DOWN HELPING HIM ALONG THE WAY. REGGIE WENT ON TO PERFORM HIS SONG ON THE GRAND OLE OPRY FOR THE NATIONAL FINALS. HE HAD MADE THE TOP 5 OUT OF 50,000 CONTESTANTS NATIONWIDE.

REGGIE THEN WENT ON TO RECORD “I’M GONNA MISS HIM’ IN NASHVILLE ALONG WITH SOME OTHER SONGS AND IT IS CURRENTLY ON HIS NEW ALBUM THAT CAN BE FOUND ON ITUNES, PANDORA, AND MANY OTHER INTERNET SITES.

REGGIE CURRENTLY LIVES IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA WHERE HE TOURS THE REGIONAL AREA OF THE UNITED STATES AND PLAYS SHOWS FOR COUNTY FAIRS, FESTIVALS, ARENA’S, CORPORATE EVENTS, AND OPENS UP FOR MAJOR ACTS.
